About
Hi, I’m Florence Otedola but everyone calls me "Cuppy" 👋 I’m an international DJ but more importantly, a philanthropist passionate about making a difference. With over 17 years of experience in the music industry, it’s been an incredible journey playing on some of the biggest stages in the world. Recently, I was coined as “The Official DJ for the United Nations." My thing? Taking my Nigerian roots and mixing them with global sounds to create something impactful. I’m lucky to have a fanbase of over 17 million amazing people I call “Cupcakes.” They’re the heartbeat of what I do. I’m proud to be the most-followed African DJ on Instagram with 9 million followers and the most-followed woman on X (formerly Twitter) across the entire African continent, with 7 million followers. When it comes to music, I’ve always pushed boundaries. Whether it’s hits like “Green Light” and “Gelato” featuring incredible artists like Grammy-winner Wyclef Jean and global star Rema, or my debut album “Original Copy,” I’ve made it a point to create music that stands the test of time. Winning Nigeria’s Best Female DJ award five years in a row from 2018? That’s just the cherry on top. But music is just one part of the story. I’m deeply passionate about giving back. Through The Cuppy Foundation, which I started, I’ve raised over $17 million to support displaced children in Nigeria—the most ever raised for Save The Children. On top of that, I created the “Cuppy Fund” to provide financial support for African students at my alma maters, Oxford University and New York University. His Majesty King Charles appointed me as the first-ever international ambassador for The King’s Trust in 2023, a role that allows me to advocate for youth equity and empowerment. In 2024, by invitation of the DSG, I had the extraordinary honor of opening the United Nations General Assembly, where I spoke about sustainable development and youth leadership, two issues close to my heart. I’ve always been about breaking barriers and trying new things. I’m dedicated to inspiring people to dream big and go after their goals with everything they’ve got! #CuppyDat
