I am an experienced leader, social innovator, and strategic advisor, committed to driving systemic change on gender equality and organisational culture across government, business, and global institutions. As Australia’s longest-serving Sex Discrimination Commissioner, I led cultural and structural reforms in the Australian Defence Force and founded the Champions of Change Coalition—now a global initiative of more than 270 CEOs and leaders working to advance gender equality in workplaces and beyond. I continue to lead this work as Founder and Convenor of the Coalition, while also serving as a Global Board Trustee of Fondation CHANEL, Adjunct Professor at The University of Sydney, and Principal of Elizabeth Broderick & Co. I believe gender equality is not only a matter of human rights—it is a leadership imperative that strengthens performance, innovation, and cohesion in workplaces and societies. In a time when approaches to diversity and inclusion are under greater scrutiny, my focus remains on evidence-based strategies that deliver measurable and lasting impact. My work is grounded in shifting deeply embedded systems, engaging decision-makers, and co-designing practical solutions that drive progress. Real change happens when leaders are willing to listen, learn, and act—and I’ve seen what’s possible when people come together with courage and purpose. Outside of work, I find balance in walking in nature, reading, watching films, and spending time with family. These moments remind me of the world we’re working to build—one that is safer, fairer, and more inclusive for everyone.
