About

CEO of Virgin Atlantic and seasoned Board level executive, with three decades of experience in aviation. Proud to lead this premium British flag carrier and travel company I call home. Our vision to be the most loved travel company means we will always innovate for our customers and deliver heartfelt experiences that are bold, reliable and uniquely Virgin Atlantic, passionately delivered by our amazing people. From 2020 to 2025 as Chief Customer & Operating Officer at Virgin Atlantic, I led all operational and customer facing teams, creating the operational excellence and delivering the customer experience that Virgin Atlantic is renowned for with safety and security always top of mind. As part of airline’s leadership team, I helped steer Virgin Atlantic through the pandemic, ensuring the airline emerged thriving and reliable, while leading the introduction of the airline’s award-winning A330neo aircraft and delivering digital operational transformation. Previously held senior commercial and operational leadership roles with Virgin Atlantic’s partners Delta Air Lines, Aeroméxico and KLM, giving me a deep understanding of, and passion for, travel and aviation. I love the complexity of aviation and the way our dynamic industry reflects what’s happening in the world at large, whilst being a true people business that brings the world closer together. Originally from the Netherlands, with an MSc (drs.) in Business Administration from the University of Groningen. Besides the Netherlands and the UK, I’ve been lucky to live in Malta, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Mexico, and now reside with my family in the beautiful South Downs in East Sussex, UK.
