I'm an entrepreneur on a mission to connect Australia. 🇦🇺 How am I doing this? Through language! You see, very early on in my life, I realised that language had the potential to be a barrier. My father is an amazing migrant who was born in Cyprus. 🇨🇾 He travelled to Australia by ship at the age of 13, with little to no English, only two years before war broke out, killing thousands and displacing hundreds of thousands more. And as you might already know, moving to another country isn't an easy endeavour. As well as leaving family and friends behind, you must navigate an entirely different culture, government and political structures, values, and beliefs. And then we get to language. Not understanding a language in your new home country can be scary, isolating and disheartening. So in 2011, at the age of 20, fuelled by my father's story of struggle and ambition, I founded EthnoLink 🎉 — today one of Australia's largest translation companies. I was determined to build a company that would make a difference in Australia, if not the world. One about connection ✅ Not about conflict ❌ And for the past nine years, our team at EthnoLink have been helping connect Australia through language. 🏛️ We do this by working with leading Federal, State and Local Government clients, Not-for-profits and Corporates to provide world-class, professional translation services. ✅ We translate between English and all languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, Greek and even Tigrinya and Hazaragi. The types of content we translate include: ✅ written documents ✅ videos ✅ audio ... and basically any type of content you can think of!💡 And in doing so, we help organisations connect with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities and tell their story or their message. This in turn helps to empower non-English speakers to make informed decisions about their life.
