Turning it into a $20m, $100m or $500m+ enterprise is a different challenge. Founders need to evolve. Management capability needs to deepen. Capital becomes more sophisticated. Governance matters. Culture gets tested.I've experienced these challenges from multiple sides of the table, as CEO, founder, investor, board director & strategic adviser.I've led through growth, crisis, transformation & disruption. From M&A, debt & capital raising to international expansion, regulatory engagement, digital transformation & AI adoption, I've developed a reputation for navigating complexity when the stakes are high.That experience has shaped some strongly held views:• Growth hides problems. Scale exposes them.• The founder is often the last part of the company to scale.• More capital doesn't fix a business - it often amplifies what is already there.• Governance should be a growth strategy, not simply compliance.• Businesses should become sale ready long before they're ready to sell.What differentiates my perspective isn't one industry or title.
